The Chevelle made its debut with a range of options and body styles that turned in to instant success. Produced by Chevrolet in three generations from 1964-1977. It was intended to compete with the Ford Fairland and Plymouth Belevedere.
The 1970 Chevelle SS offered here is powered by a largely stock but very healthy 396 v8 350 hp. The engine received a rebuild roughly 6 years ago and a stock comp cam was installed. The block was bored .30 over at this time. It is mated to a turbo 400 automatic transmission. It is equipped with a 3:31 posi rear end. The car runs and drives smoothly as it should. There are no engine numbers on the block because the block was “decked” at the time of rebuild but the date code numbers remain and everything is properly date coded. This sexy chevelle has recently received new springs all around, new shocks, new ball joints, new brake pads and new Waldron exhaust. The black interior is in great condition as well. The gauges and clock work as they should. Other options include 7,000 RPM tachometer, working AC, power steering, power brakes, HD radiator, cowl induction, quadrajet carburetor, all original date coded components, full size spare, SS trim, shoulder belts, owner’s manual, AM stereo with 8 track and a black vinyl top. The car was repainted at the time the engine was pulled and rebuilt 6 years ago and shows very well.
